Dr. Bernhard has more than 25 years’ experience in the evaluation and treatment of work-related disability and personal injury. He is a Qualified Medical Evaluator (Q.M.E.), providing detailed, timely and ratable reports for Workers’ Compensation in accordance with A.C.O.E.M. and A.M.A. Guides, 5th edition, addressing A.O.E./C.O.E., causation, apportionment, impairment and appropriate work restrictions. He is also an Independent Medical Evaluator (I.M.E.) for long-term disability.
His areas of special interest include injuries to the spine, knees and ankles. He also evaluates for carpal tunnel, chronic pain problems, fibromyalgia and reflex sympathetic dystrophy. Dr. Bernhard has expertise with assessment of stroke, amputees, spinal cord and brain injuries, and he performs E.M.G.s and nerve conduction studies.
Dr. Bernhard is an A.B.M.S.-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. As a physiatrist, he specializes in evaluation and treatment of the musculoskeletal system -- offering the ideal choice for the treatment of low back pain and other work-related injuries.
